Mayank Singh Shishodia is a Senior Software Engineer at Google with over 6 years of relevant experience in the field of large-scale distributed and storage systems. He is currently working on building a brand new managed Database service as part of GCP. Mayank has worked in multiple teams at Google, including the Napa team which built Google's next-generation Data Warehouse. He was an early member of the team and was the Team Lead for two areas: DML (data manipulation language) and Security & Privacy. Mayank was also a part of the Core Search Infrastructure team. As part of building highly reliable and scalable data processing systems, this group does research that improves Google products and advances the state of the art. These systems are in the critical path of the majority of Google's revenue. Before joining Google, Mayank completed his Master of Science (MS) in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2016. He worked as a Teaching Assistant at CMU for three semesters and was awarded the 'Outstanding Student Services - Teaching Assistant' award by his department after being nominated for the award by the two professors he worked under. Mayank also holds a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science and Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology. Mayank's technical expertise includes Software Engineering, infrastructure, Data Warehouse, GCP, Research Scientist, and Search. He has a strong interest in the fields of large-scale distributed and storage systems and has contributed significantly to the development of various systems at Google.
